Authors, having poured their intellect and emotions into their books, are no longer willing to hand over the marketing of their books to monolithic internet bookstores who demand large standard commissions merely for listing books on their website.

By forming a coalition, the writing community can advertise on large internet bookstores, yet sell the books themselves. The benefit of doing this is the buying public pays less for the book and the author receives more because there is no middleman.

Today’s hectic lifestyle makes it difficult to go to a specialty bookstore, but the computer is there whenever one has a few minutes. With a few keystrokes one can window shop, read reviews and visit with others about the type of books that interest them. To purchase a book the buyer clicks to the author’s private website and buys directly from the author. Buyers are pleased with reduced costs, but always have the sense of connecting with the author. This sense of belonging to a community with the same interest is why genre specific websites will be the growing trend in years to come.

What if I don't have a website?

I am Sharon and I am an independent author. Welcome to my writing community!

This site is primarily a shopping search engine that helps people find and compare books online. That sterile enviroment dosen't appeal to me.

At heart I am a small town country girl and I love the independent bookstores that reflect the interests and values of their owners.

My desire is to create the atmosphere of the friendly, helpful neighborhood bookstore online.

My parents instilled basic honesty in me and I have an innate distrust of “politically correct” terms such as “visions and missions.” I do take strong pride in my personal values, and my objective is to promote independent authors~~like myself!

Values:

I value personal and professional integrity.

I value the intellectual rights of independent authors and believe they should keep all of their royalties.

I value an individuals desire to buy a book, not pay a middleman high overhead costs.

Goals:

To provide an advertising site that charges only for advertising and takes no percentage of royalties.

To provide the general public with good reading material, by independent authors, at a fair price delivered to their door.

Disputes:

Customers buy directly from the independent authors. Disputes should first be dealt with by those two parties. If a customer is unable to get a satisfactory response from the independent author I will negotiate on their behalf.
